This game has a mountain of potential behind it. It’s a bit bare-bones at the moment, but that’s to be expected of an early-release game. However, the 4-8 month completion window does worry me some, unless the devs already have some finished product ready to be implemented. Onto the game itself: You’re getting exactly what you want out of it. It’s a spaceship rail-shooter with roguelike elements, and if that’s something that sounds appealing to you, then you’re gonna be happy with it. It’s reminiscent of Star Fox, Space Harrier, and the like. The controls feel great. I recommend playing this game with a controller or joystick for the best experience. My only gripe that I don’t see changing with the full release are the stylistic choices. The neon/Tron aesthetic is overplayed with rail-shooters and I would like to see one with a more detailed and unique art direction, but these kinds of games aren’t meant to be eye-candy. They’re meant to feel good and push dopamine, which this game does well. All-in-all, the biggest thing I want is “more”, and that should be coming with the full release of the game.
