War on the Sea Free Download (v1.08g6h3)
War on the Sea 🙂 – Command ships, submarines and aircraft in the South Pacific during WWII.And look carefully at your ships in any manoeuvre, as they’re not above ramming each others. UI is way too basic for planes encounters, which might just as well be solved through an inexistant auto-resolve. At least the models look nice (would benefit from some crew, though) but don’t expect the sea to look any different whether calm, rough or stormy. I’ll look forward to Task Force Admiral when it releases.

This is a game I’ve tried hard to like but always end up quitting in frustration… Too many things are missing in the campaign to make it enjoyable. No SIGINT nor Intelligence briefings whatsoever, no strategic bombardments of ports and airfields, no mines, no crews in ships and planes, no at-sea resupply. Radars won’t tell you how many enemy planes are approaching. Air Recon will sometimes detects naval forces (the AI finds mine all the time), and somehow the AI will always find bombers on their way too. Planes are useless against submarines, and suicidal against any flak-protected target. Good luck trying to coordinate attacks since your naval targets get a “grace period” after each attack for which they actually disappear (and can’t be attacked). In a game that is all about convoys and supply lines, your outposts operate through magical sustenance (you need convoys to set them up, but after that they’ll make do without any supply).
