Top notch mystery game with hard sci-fi and Black Mirror inspirations. The game gradually adds more layers of intrigue as you progress until you’re at the edge of your seat wanting to find out more. I playtested The Gap while it was in beta and I’m happy to say that the final release improved on all fronts. It really is a standout experience with great production value for an indie title. The game is definitely more than it seems. At first you see a good looking walking simulator and expect for it to fill your evening – and yes, you will be right, it did fill my evening, but with a story that will keep me questioning reality for at least another week. It was a blast, slowly uncovering the mind of Joshua, when he was trying to piece his memory back together. In the time of games that use amnesia and other diseases affecting mind as a way of explaining why my OP RPG hero must be weak at the start, actually seeing an adult approach to the topic was very refreshing. And it kept my suspension of disbelief in place the whole time.

Moreover, while taking part in an experimental neuroscientific program, led by a biotech giant – Neuraxis, Joshua unknowingly finds himself entangled in a corporate intrigue. hopes of unraveling the web of memories, he’ll need to face a distressing question – can he really trust himself?
