I always loved Empires entries in the Dynasty Warriors series. I have not played any of the Samurai Warrior ones. This entry might be a good starting point for PC players to try the Empires title if they don’t own a PS3. The gameplay is repetitive, and enjoyment comes from customization and roleplaying. This game has strong roleplay capabilities, from character customization, to scenario creation, army customization and even making your own banners/emblem. This entry also had the best political system at its time of release. However, in my opinion, the game’s deep customization is dragged down by the limited amount of events and endings in the game. No matter if you play as a good person or evil person, you get the same ending. Characters don’t die naturally either. In older empire entries, they can get wounded then die or if you fail to “unite” the land in 50 years, your character can die etc. If I had to compare, DW9 Empires did this part better. – Customization/character creation – Semi-traditional DW combat formula. Weak attack chains to strong attacks + EX attacks from DW7. – Many ways to play. From unaffiliated officers, to rulers, you have different options on how to play.
