Present within the game as it stands currently is a comprehensive upgrade system that allows you to select upgrades based on character level and weapon experience gained in the current play-through attempt. What this means is that each attempt remains unique and allows the exploration of different playstyles and “builds” that keeps the gameplay fresh and exciting. Each texture and asset included within Deidthraw is of a high-quality and leads to the level feeling immersive and atmospheric. Ambient lighting is incredibly impressive thanks to the use of CPU based Ray-Tracing that allows for the creation of fantastic lighting even for those that do not possess the relevant NVIDEA GPUs. This obviously must come at a cost to performance and I suggest those that are planning on purchasing to read the relevant recommend specifications before picking up the game. For myself running on an RTX 3080 I enjoy a constant 120 frames-per-second when altering the graphics settings accordingly.

Choose your dead, each with different abilities and benefits then try and survive the unending hordes as long as you can, building defences, upgrading your character and defeating the boss. Immediately once you enter the world of Deidthraw, you are immediately exposed to the different features and intricacies each level attempt brings. The game feels fluid with movement and particularly jumping and crouching mechanics being responsive and fun to manoeuvrer around the trailing horde of enemies. Each weapon that you encounter or purchase has its own distinct charm and custom-made sound effects that overall contribute to a level of polish and charm that leaves you wanting to try out each weapon.
