Many bugs. Most notable are animals randomly spining indefinitely to the point where they may die form malnutrition, images within the construction catalogue disappearing, and most egregiously, the game bricked several times upon loading. However, the latter only occurred during my first several loads.- A bit of a no-brainer for a just-released EA title, but the game in its current state is very bare bones. After playing for just over 10 hours, I found myself losing interest in the park I just built. Of course, the devs’ roadmap will myriad new features over time, but it’s not at quite at the point of being the tens-of-hours time-sink that it really should be. Prehistoric Kingdom ?️

Prehistoric Kingdom! A unique title that takes inspiration from games like Zoo Tycoon 2 (ZT2) , Jurassic Park Operation Genesis (JPOG), and Planet Zoo (PZ), while attempting to improve on the mechanics of each. Construction: Right now, despite just launching into EA, you can already make stunning parks through the use of modular pieces, similar to PZ, but with the added flexibility of 3-axis object scaling. Like PZ, you can place plants individually or, if you want to, you can go full-blown ZT2 style and paint forests. Unlike ZT2 though, you can decide what types of plants are placed while painting, giving you lots of control over foliage creation while also providing a much more streamlined experience than games like PZ. Moreover, the plants painted using the brush still function as modular pieces that you can individually select. Keep in mind though, it still an early access title, so there are bugs here and there, but it’s already a blast to create exhibits and shops in PK. Since the game is still in early access, the animal behavior is lacking. However, what does exist is already quite good. Thanks to the animations, animals feel alive despite not having much under the hood ai-wise. Small little animations like preening or yawning give the animals a lot of character, and the well

implement inverse-kinematics reduce clipping and make the creatures feel grounded. Sometimes you’ll notice a bit of jankiness in the movements, or perhaps a few visual glitches, but this is to be expected for an early access title, and the bugs are comparable to ones that exist in PZ. All in all, if you enjoy park builders like ZT2, JWE2, or PZ you’ll probably get quite the kick out of PK, and with a fleshed out road-map (with features such as breeding, expanded social behavior, and food production planned in the next year) things are looking bright for this game and its dev team. – As aforementioned, the sound design, especially the soundtrack, is great. – Nigel Marvin, the famous British conservationist perhaps best known for appearing in the ITV series Prehistoric Park, serves as your guide and advisor. Nigel provides a sense of awe and wonder that a game such as this needs with hints, snippets of prehistoric trivia, and his pleasant and upbeat demeanour. – The construction system is akin to that of Frontier Development’s Planet games; the game comes packaged with various prefab buildings, but with myriad generic pieces you can use to create all-new and functional buildings. I really lilke this approach to construction in park management games, as it adds a very deep layer to customisation.✨ Buy From Official Steam Website
