His blood became the seas and rivers, his flesh became the earth, his bones became the mountains, and his skull became the sky. In Norse mythology, Ymir is often depicted as a primordial being who represents chaos and potential,

as his body was used to create the ordered world of the gods. Some myths also associate Ymir with wisdom and knowledge, as the giant Mimir was said to have drunk from the well of wisdom that originated from Ymir’s skull.
