Workshop Simulator allows you to repair and refurbish items using a range of restoration mechanics such as disassembling, cleaning, sanding and painting. The accompanying story will immerse you in the nostalgia of tinkering with your grandfather. Graphics: The overall graphics, I would rate at a 6. Nothing amazing, but you shouldn’t expect amazing graphics in these toss together games. However, I am knocking it down a lot because of the lighting in the game, and the zooming feature. When you are in a paint booth, or one of the booths, some of the pieces are so freaking dark you can’t tell what you are doing to them. Then other pieces in that same machine are lit so much you can’t see what you are doing. The main assembly table was almost always too bright. The zoom feature while you are working on a part was a pain. Sometimes it would zoom right in. Sometimes it wouldn’t. Sometimes, like the chessboard, you are zoomed too far in with the farthest out zoom, you can’t really do much to help yourself. Sound/Music: Music was almost never there. It was in the house playing. But not in the workshop where you spend 99% of your time. The sounds were mediocre, or less than mediocre. Gameplay: Here is where I am sure others will disagree with me, but nothing stands out to me in this game. Halfway through the month, it just becomes repetitive. Unscrew, unbolt, clean, scrub, paint, assemble. Even the painting choices do not matter. Some of the pieces you repair for grandma, when you put them back, none of your color choices are on displayed, it goes to a default color scheme. This pissed me off when I realized it, and made me realize how little my design choices actually matter, which takes us into the next complaint.
