Valkie 64 Free Download

Valkie 64 is an action adventure inspired by action adventure games from the Nintendo 64 era The biggest issue however, is healing. That is to say there is almost none. Sure you can pick up hearts that drop, but if you’re gonna be using the berserkers potion to do a decent amount of damage to late game enemies, you can’t rely on those, and even without it, when you get 10+ hearts, grinding for them is slow. This means dying is incredibly painful, as it spawns you back in the “Area” (Last transition) with 3 hearts. Most enemies in the game deal more than 3 hearts in one hit. And your most reliable way of healing is going back to the hub and resting there. There are no healing potions, the closest being a revive that brings you back on the spot with 3 hearts, and mercy invincibility lasts less than a second. So all of this together means if you die in say, the ice boss arena, you have to run back through 2 relatively large areas on one hit to death in order to rest at the hub, then run back through those 2 long areas, AND all the way through the dungeon, trying to keep your health high before you can even try the boss again. I don’t think this game needs fast travel, or anything like that.. but at the very least a health refill before a boss is basic game design. The only other complaints I have is the secret boss’s fighting area being 70% blocked off due to traps that really don’t need to be there (Otherwise I love the CONCEPT of the secret boss), the lack of any kind of defending aside from dodges (She wields a giant sword, c’mon. gimme a block..) and… Contact damage. The worst thing in past games that this game really has no point having. The only time an enemy should hurt me, is when they’re attacking me, not because they decided to rub their face against me.

Valkie 64 is an action adventure inspired by action adventure games from the Nintendo 64 era Retro Low Poly 3D Graphics Non-linear Progression Challenging Dungeons and Bosses Lots of Sidequest and Post Game Content Play as the guardian Valkie and rescue the realm of Celisa. Visit towns, help villagers, upgrade your gear and conquer dungeons! Despite those complaints, I love the way combat works, Trying to find openings to combo is fun, and the ability to use both horizontal and vertical swings at your discretion is surprisingly useful. Finding out when you should sheath your weapon for the speed or keep it out for the chance to attack is great, In general I just love the difference in movement between the sheathed and unsheathed modes, and I love how genuinely useful MOST of the potions are. And even the (Kinda worthless) red potion is still vaguely useful as one extra hit before death. And other than Contact damage, I haven’t run into any weird or janky hitboxes yet. I love how I can lose to most enemies and say “I’m just fighting them wrong.” And learn how to fight that enemy correctly. The visuals, in particular the environments, are the game’s primary selling point. The art perfectly nails the N64 look with era-appropriate models and textures, forgoing the screen shaders and crt effects to feel like you’re playing a N64 game right on an emulator in HD. Locations feel exactly the right size, with atmospheric fog and walls of tiled trees just beyond the horizon. They also feel really well thought out and modeled to be interesting to traverse. No flat, barren open world nonsense here. You can really tell that the dev has a deep understanding of how the N64 classics handled their 3D resources. The UI is serviceable, but sadly noticeably a bit at odds with the surrounding visuals.
