I get it, and yea, that was me too for the longest time. I thought why would anyone play THAT? Now that i have it, i have to admit its a surprisingly good game. You can even play it when being braindead, and that is partly why it is so successfull. There is nothing complex or difficult about it, yet you have a lot of things to do and can build on your plots of land what you want and how you want it. That means you have quite some creative freedom to do things how you like. On top, the game is very open to modding so you can adjust the game to what you want it to be rather easylie, for most things there is at least one mod.

And in hard mode(start from scratch), the economy is, to my surprise, quite tight. You operate on smal margins for a long time and i enjoy that. You have to dig yourself out of the financial hole for some time and what you spend your virtual money on does make a difference for many gameplay hours. For a long time you can not afford all you “want” but only one thing at a time, so what´s it gona be? Yes, hard mode is grindy in that sense, but grindy in a good way for my taste. The easy and normaly difficulties, i never tried those, i guess you roll in money more quickly there. In short, the game was a big surprise for me, and with a ton of mod maps i can seem myself playing it some more in the future.
