You have a choice of Warrior(Melee), Mage(Ranged) and Engineer(Tech). Each has their own skill trees and each offers a different playstyle. The combat while sometimes slow and slightly clunky is enjoyable. Just be able that you will be hitting the attack button a lot outside combat to collect stuff things which only seems to drop from destructible objects. I would say it reminds me of a Crash Bandicoot but with a fox but also involving combat where you can actually use weapons. Overall, I can recommend it but just be aware that is does has some slow moments outside combat which can draw you out of the immersion of the game, otherwise its worth a playthrough.

I expected this to be another classic 3D platformer masterpiece like Kao the Kangaroo. Well, I was completely wrong, this is a very different kind of game. Maybe I was just mislead by the publisher saying it is “Inspired by the golden age of 3D platformers”, and everyone (but me) understands that this is not really a platformer but… an action RPG. Choose between three characters, one of them a mage (twin-stick shooter), one wielding a big hammer (my favorite) or an engineer (to use gadgets). Kill masses of attacking mobs in close (or not so close) combat. No 3D platformer here. The game uses washed out visuals in low poly resolution and an isometric landscape. There are things to jump on, but it is a bit hard to control because your character is tiny and you cannot move the camera. So, there is a 3D platformer part, but not a good one. Is this game a masterpiece? No, not really. It is not a bad game, though. Fighting through the four worlds, killing mobs, and upgrading your hero can be fun, if you look for that kind of gameplay. Gamepad works fine.
