The best way to jump into one of the most surprising shooters of 2016 is with the Titanfall™ 2 Ultimate Edition. Ultimate Edition includes Titanfall™ 2 base game, Deluxe Edition content (Scorch & Ion Prime Titans, Deluxe Edition Warpaint for 6 Titans, Deluxe Edition Camo for all Titans, Pilots & Weapons, Deluxe Edition Nose Arts for 6 Titans, Deluxe Edition Callsign), and Jump-Starter content (All Titans unlocked, all Pilot tacticals unlocked, 500 credits to unlock loadouts, cosmetics and gear, 10 2x XP tokens, the Underground R-201 Carbine Warpaint). The campaign is also pretty short, although I don’t dock points for that. More games should be willing to provide a short, excellent experience like this. Technically, the game ran smooth as butter at 4k on my RTX 2060, and it looked and sounded great the whole way. I don’t like that I had to log in on Origin, though. I can’t end this review without raving about the time travel level. That thing is a masterpiece. I won’t spoil anything else about it, but I’ve never seen anything quite like it and it is unbelievably well-executed. That alone is worth the price of admission.Titanfall 2 ?️

The best thing I can say about the campaign is that it moves. There’s a kinetic energy to the whole thing; you never get stuck and there’s plenty of gameplay variety and the pacing is great, mixing it up between shooting, platforming, mech-piloting, and story in just the right amounts. The worst thing I can say is that I just didn’t enjoy the mech-piloting sequences that much. When the game is a first-person shooter, it’s very good but not mindblowing. It does remind me very much of Bungie’s approach to the genre, with a fun mix of dynamic movement, cover, shooting, and just enough ammo management to keep you honest. The enemy AI is good enough to keep things interesting, the weapons offer some variety (although not a ton), and the level design is linear but gives you options and variety within the set pieces themselves. It’s solid, there’s nothing wrong with it, and if you like FPS games you will have fun. When the game is a platformer, it’s somehow engaging even though it provides very little difficulty. These sequences are clearly designed more to mix things up and break up the pacing than they are to seriously challenge the player’s movement skills or environmental problem-solving. And yet they have so much momentum, and the controls are so perfect, and it all looks and feels so cool that it just works. It’s a welcome break from the action. Buy From Official Steam Website
