The Abbey – Director’s cut Free Download

The best adventure of Alcachofa Soft. The story is a crime-mystery one, and takes place in an abbey, as you can guess from the title. We play as the famous monk, Leonardo de Toledo, who is on his journey to the abbey with a local nobleman’s boy, who’s intended to be a monk himself. From that on mysterious deaths, secretive brothers and the struggle for power builds the story. And what a great story it is! As a game They Abbey – Director’s cut is pretty alright. The game is available in English and Spanish (there are some minor, but weird differences – like the English one starts the story outright, Spanish starts in the settings), but despite the menu supporting widescreen, the game is only available in the original 4:3 aspect ratio. At least it makes good use of it, as the backdrops are really well done and super atmospheric, and the “camerawork” (directing?) and character animation is stylish and easy to read. Though the characters themselves are a bit rought at the edges – obviously 3D modelled, light sources affect them in cutscenes, but the color palette is not super wide. It’s a bit weird how 3D mixes with almost cartoonish shading, reminiscent of cell shading but trying to be more realistic( candle light on face = 3 shades, 4 tops). It’s weird, but the good, unique kind of weird. It’s done consistently and with care. Voice acting is a real roller coaster ride- Leonardo’s, and a few monk’s voice acting is awesome. On the other hand, some less important character’s – like the apprentice, the prior, a monk in the library – are horrible. They are given a personality – whiny-stupid, full of himself, timid – and they say everything in that style, even when the actual sentence would require actual acting.
