I haven’t played a more out of place Smash clone since Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, until Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. I was intrigued enough to give it a try since it’s Smash and the whole premise of a brawler with no blood and gore would be a fitting scenario for a kid-friendly environment such as Nick. I, quite frankly, feel there is so much incompatibility with the roster that it shows just by how they interact with eachother. Generic one-liner or in character phrases that share no acknowledgement to the other character is all you need to know to tell how much all of this was just thrown together. I still feel there should’ve been more characters from each show to help accommodate this. For example, if they added Dib from Invader Zim and the interactions between Dib and Zim would’ve had an encounter with eachother that involved brawling to continue any sense of their in-show rivalry. I would’ve totally been on board with things like that. I played as Shredder in my first run and I’m surprised he didn’t even recognize April O’Neal when I fought her. Guys, you’re in the same universe.
