The mechanic allows you to charge an enemy to an open adjacent tile to the enemy, so long as you are within range of the tile/enemy; however,

you are unable to select which adjacent tile you are able to charge to. Instead, the game is designed in a way that forces you to go to the tile that it selects for you. Sometimes this aligns with where I want to go, but there are often more cases where it suggests a less than optimal play by going to a tile that does not allow me to follow through with the rest of my strategized plan. Since this goes against the main theme of the game, I am left with a bad taste in my mouth where I have now lost control over the key gameplay experience: Map out course, attack, retreat etc.
