Direct Drive owners – stay away for now. I was really looking forward to this game. The concept seems great. Skipped Dakar 18 due to being abandoned with so many bugs, so had some hopes for this game. At the moment the game is not playable for me. It does not recognize my VRS direct drive. I could live with no force feedback for a while, but the game does not allow me to map the controls to my steering axis. Or my pedals. Unplayable at the moment. Will refund if no proper response can be seen within 24h. The game runs well and looks absolutely.

beautiful. The initial races are pretty short considering this is Dakar, but there are later races that are decently long and actually start testing your and your vehicle’s endurance. On Pro difficulty the co-driver can occasionally get confused, though can’t blame him since I manage even worse than him when I don’t have him with me (due to driving a single seater). Would be nice to be able to choose whether the game uses IRL distances (which is what it does currently) or ingame distances.
